This Is The First Screenshot From Assassin’s Creed: Revelations

Ubisoft sends word this morning officially announcing the development of the fourth Assassin’s Creed game, Revelations. That lovely screenshot you see above is the first official image of the game and looks to be Ezio hanging on using a new device called the “hookblade.” He’s overlooking Constantinople during the era of the Ottoman Empire. It’s supposedly the last chapter of the “Ezio trilogy” which presumably means that the next AC game will have a new assassin for us to play with.

I, for one, am honestly ready for Ezio to go. After the first Assassin’s Creed, I assumed that each subsequent title would have us control different members of the Assassin Brotherhood in other time period. It’s why I was a little hesitant on jumping into the last entry into the franchise, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood — did we really need another AC game set in Rome starring Ezio? However, Ubisoft ended up surprising me with a well-paced, solid story and unique hide-and-seek themed multiplayer game. I’ve given up pooh-pooh’ing the fact that a yearly Assassin’s Creed game is overkill. If Revelations is of at least the same quality as Brotherhood, there’ll be no issue there.

In their teaser for their June magazine-exclusive AC: Revelations feature piece, Game Informer revealed that players will be able to control Altair, Ezio, and Desmond in the new game. Sounds like a great way to incorporate all the character’s we’ve played as in the previous game into an epic wrap-up of the Ezio story.

Obviously, Ubisoft will tell us more details about the game at E3 next month. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is set to come out on the 360, PS3, and PC in November 2011.

Ubisoft’s We Dare Is The Most Ridiculous Video Game Ever

The closest explanation I can give for this new Ubisoft Wii game is that it’s a really silly version of “Truth or Dare,” without the Truth part. Watch this video trailer first and then we’ll talk.

The original trailer (with the tagline “Have A Spicy Evening!”) has been region locked away from the US, probably because we Americans were giggling like school girls over all the sexual things going on in this video. Nevermind the fact that the only way this game would work is if you were extremely attractive and the only other people you were playing with were also genetic specimens. Actually, the only way this game would work is if the experience was a one to one re-creation of the trailer with the exact same people involved. Otherwise, I’d prefer to skip the foreplay, ma’am.

Now that I think about it, it’s good that this game is currently set for release in Europe only. From what I’ve seen in the movies, those people are always more attractive than Americans anyway. Could you imagine the People of Walmart playing this game? Enjoy the mental images. They’re yours to keep.

Since some of you can’t see the original trailer anymore, I’ve taken the liberty of capturing the different “secret endings” to the trailer. (Originally, you could click on each of the codes at the end of the trailer to choose your own ending). Not to spoil anything, but they end in either sexy time or hilarious dude on dude action.

Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood Developer Walkthrough Video

Honestly, I’m a little burnt on the Assassin’s Creed franchise.  Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the gameplay and the plot of the series has been fairly fascinating, but Ubisoft’s planning on releasing Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood barely a year after the last title came out.

Since there’s no new number in the title, it may be confusing as to what Brotherhood is exactly. Essentially, it’s a continuation of Ezio’s story from Assassin’s Creed 2. However, a multiplayer mode has been added along with a more robust territory/army building metagame.

Much like Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, you can recruit assassins, send them on missions, and upgrade them like Pokemon. It’s an interesting wrinkle in the series, but I’m not sure it’s that compelling to draw me back into the the world of the Renaissance again.

Perhaps you’ll be more inclined after watch the developer walkthrough above.

New Prince of Persia Trailer Is Breathtaking

Wow. Ubisoft’s new trailer for the upcoming Prince of Persia game is absolutely stunning.  I was skeptical about the new art direction for the game, but am no longer.  Do yourself a favor and watch it in HD.  Your life will thank you for it.
